The Luton Legionnaires Wargames Club

Meet the Club Members:

Paul "Hannibal" Stein (Club Secretary)

Designing rules, campaigns, scenarios and game-systems are Paul's strengths. Though prone to over-caution and 'safety first' tactics, Paul is the driving force behind the club.

Martin "Guderian" Stein

Martin is the Club Chronicler, responsible for the Newsletters and the creator of the Website. Famed for his "Dash to the Clash" tactics, his ability to pun whilst under fire is a formidable weapon of mass distraction.

"Prince Robert of the Rhine"

The youngest and newest Stein member of the club, Robert is already showing his eye for a charge - normally his pocket money! Characteristically he looks to spring a surprise attack and enjoys the "friendly fire" of the tabletop.

Terry "Old Pete" Catton

Terry is a naval wargaming enthusiast and a professional James Longstreet look-a-like. The master of many rules, Terry can be trusted to command any cavalry in a crisis.

John "Marshal Ney" Berezansky

Rumoured to be descended from one of Napoleon's Polish cavalry Generals, John possesses dash, elan and a disregard for orders. Note the loss of three fingers from die rolling under fire.

James "Stonewall" Day

The club maverick, you can count on James to obey his own orders.

Jed "Lord Chelmsford" Davies

Poor intelligence has always been the bain of Jed's wargaming career. He can be counted upon to boldly go where no enemy has gone before!

Jack "Hornblower" Holt

Holt by name and halt by nature, Jack will loyally hold any objective to the last man, even when not under attack.

Phil "Lord Cardigan" Merryweather

A man for all periods, Phil is famed for his legendary collection of miniature models and figurines. A true enthusiast.

Roger "Hasdrubal" Fensome

Roger is, by his own admission, a bit of a flanker. He loves nothing better than a crafty flank, and will do so with the flick of a wrist. Be warned, when playing Roger, always expect the unexpected.

Adrian "Alexander the Great" Callender

Respected for his ability to turn a phalanx's flank at whim, Adrian is rightly feared for his on-the-table antics. Never one to blow his horn and sound the retreat, Adrian gives ground grudgingly!

Steve "Montgomery" Frampton

Steve is our leading World War 2 light and his "blast-through 'em" tactics are famed throughout the hobby. Not known for taking prisoners, Steve knows when to surrender a key objective.

Mark "Zhukov" Scales

Mark's a new recruit, and yet he's a veteran of many campaigns. No stranger to forced-marches and digging in, he's equally at home fighting in a fox-hole or fortified factory.
